TL;DR
Pick Conductor if you're on an Apple Silicon Mac and want the most polished parallel-worktree session runner available, including Cursor CLI support. Pick Pivio if you need Windows or Linux, a kanban board synced to GitHub, scheduled prompts, pipelines, or a phone remote. Both are free to download today; Pivio's long-term model is a settled one-time $29 lifetime license rather than an unshipped business model.
Where Conductor is genuinely better
Credit first. Conductor is the most polished way to run agents in parallel git worktrees on a Mac. The diff review is excellent, the app is fast, and the team (around six people, backed by a $22M Series A) ships constantly. It also runs Cursor's agent today, which Pivio doesn't yet: Cursor CLI and Gemini CLI are still on our roadmap. If your whole world is an Apple Silicon Mac and your workflow is "run several sessions, review diffs, merge," Conductor is a genuinely great tool.
Where Pivio is genuinely better
Pivio's bet is that running sessions is half the job. The other half is the workflow around them, and that's the half Conductor doesn't cover as of July 2026: there's no kanban, no prompt scheduling, no pipelines, and no mobile story (their FAQ is upfront about the current scope). Pivio ships all four: a board that mirrors GitHub issues, prompts that fire when a rate-limit window resets, pipelines that chain plan, build, and review steps, and the Pivio Cloud phone remote: pair with one QR scan, watch every agent live, steer or stop them, and review and push the diff from wherever you are, end-to-end encrypted. Leave your desk and the work keeps moving; that's a workflow Conductor simply doesn't have today.
Pivio also runs on Windows and Linux, where Conductor doesn't run at all, and the pricing model is settled: Pivio is free to download right now, and the long-term price is a one-time $29 with free updates, never a subscription or seat pricing.

Frequently asked questions
Is Conductor free?
Yes, as of July 2026 Conductor is free with no paid plan shipped. The team says openly that they run on funding and do not make money yet, with team features planned. Pivio is also free to download right now, but with a settled plan behind it: the long-term model is a one-time $29 lifetime license, never a subscription, so the business model is not a question mark.
Does Conductor run on Windows or Linux?
No. Conductor is macOS-only and requires Apple Silicon; Intel Mac support is listed as in development, and there is no Windows or Linux version. Pivio ships for macOS, Windows, and Linux.
Can I control Conductor from my phone?
Conductor has no mobile or remote-access story as of July 2026. Pivio has one: the optional Pivio Cloud companion pairs your phone to the desktop with a QR scan, end-to-end encrypted, so you can watch agents, reply when one is blocked, and review and push the diff from anywhere.
Which tool supports more agent CLIs?
Conductor runs Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and OpenCode. Pivio runs Claude Code, Codex, and OpenCode, with Gemini CLI and Cursor CLI on the roadmap. If Cursor CLI is your daily driver today, that is a real point for Conductor.
